EU is living a tough period. Many citizens feel that the financial crisis triggered in 2008, worsened by the euro sovereign debt crisis, has put the future of European integration into question. With rising unemployment and simultaneous austerity measures taken by EU member states the perspectives seem grim for citizens.
However, whereas European Member States are struggling to reduce their debt, the European Union is the only actor left that can take care of the recovery. To encourage long term investment, the European Commission with the collaboration of the European Investment Bank has just proposed to implement EU projects bonds. To better understand the objectives of EU projects bonds, to discover in details how they could be implemented, we have the pleasure to interview Nick Jennet Head of New Product and special transaction department at the European Investment Bank. Watch your EP is recorded within the European Parliament in Brussels and presented by Anne-Sophie Michel and Arezki Yaïche
